Every Thursday, we will be posting our “Tip of the Week.” Hopefully, you’ll be able to incorporate these phrases, or words, into your everyday speaking and writing.
This week’s Tip of the Week focuses on an English word that can mean different things depending on context. The online Cambridge dictionary defines the verb ‚lend‘ as “ to give something to someone for a short period of time, expecting it to be given back“.
It can be confusing when one hears, „Could you lend me a hand?“ This common expression does not mean you will need to cut your hand off and give it to your best friend for a short period of time. Rather, this expression is used when asking someone for help.
Here at Logos Sprachinstitut, we are very interested in lending you and your company a hand in developing your international business through language skills. Give us a call today and we’ll get you and your professional team started as soon as possible!
